Posted in the Tack Room but no replies - wonder if here might have a better audience.

Does anyone have any reviews of these bits? Can't quite tell from images online how curved/ergonomic the mouthpiece actually is.

From what I gather it's not quite as curved as the Eldonian Harmony (which is similar to the NS verbidend?) Is the Balancer bit comparable to any other NS bits? (Possibly the team up?)

Looking to see if this http://www.thehorsebitshop.co.uk/product.php?xProd=1164 would be a suitable step up from a lozenge full cheek which is currently rubbing and catching underneath the noseband of a micklem. She has quite a big tongue and I think this could possibly offer her a little more room.

Thanks.

A little off topic but if you're looking for curved bit, I bought a Cotswold Sport tongue saver bit last week and so far very impressed - mines the wilkie though so I can't directly compare for you

Thanks AFB, previous owner mentioned horse goes really nicely in a wilkie for faster work so I will keep that in mind - looks like the tongue saver might have a similar curve to the balancer bit.

I have ordered the D ring balancer bit for a trial so will post up how it is just in case anyone is interested.

I used the balancer D ring bit on my youngster it was great. I had in a NS bit, but the loose ring caused pinching no matter what setting it was on bridle, guards, Vaseline etc. Swapped to this bit as had lozenge, but not expensive. Its been great as no rubbing so allowed me to compete dressage. I am now back in the NS as he is working at a higher level and not leaning so much and his lips have hardened up so rubbing not an issue. It was great to start the horse off with, without £100 + price tag and did not cause pinching on baby horse.
