Took Jerry for his first lesson this afternoon, and he was a star

He is still a bit unsettled in his mouth, but my instructor told be to ignore him as it was just babyness, and he would grow out of it, he was excellent with the other horses around, and stood quitely waiting for his turn to do something.

Had a little jump to see what he was made of, and he leapt it about 4 ft in the air, landed, squealed and then bucked

His canter was still all over the place, but his trot is improving I think, but this lesson was really more about getting him out in company to see how he would react, and he was perfect.

My only concern is the mouth, and just wondered really if anyone had a youngster that was like this, and if so did they grow out of it? he sort of just chucks his head up and down now and again. (had teeth and back etc done, and all fine) He is just ridden in a simple fulmar snaffle, which my instructor advised to stay in.

We are off again in two weeks, so will hopefully get some photos next time

Yes Bailey did it as a baby and has started doing it again now, I think it is lack of muscle, the fact he is slighty unsure and that I hav'nt quite got the bitting 100% yet. He just grew out of it last time and I am hoping he will again. Instructor said it is just a very babyish thing
