Jester is hurt....really scared :(

Abcesses can set on very very quickly and the horse can often present like it has a broken leg - I really hope this is what is going on and the clicky noise is just from him walking funny due to the pain in his hoof.

This - had a passerby knock on my door re one of my horses in my field who she thought had broken their leg and turned out was hoof abscess. A little while earlier they all had been running around so it is amazing how quickly things can change and not necessarily for the worst. However, it did give me a very worried and scary time until realised was not a fracture. Hugs and hope works out well.

Try not to panic, although thats easier said than done.

Hope all is ok. We have just been through this, daughters horse was kicked and was non weight bearing. She is sooo much better now.

Sending big hugs, and positive vibes x

I remember finding my horse like this, took over two hours to get him in from the field. I was besides myself thinking it was a broken leg and therefore curtains. I'd ridden him the day before and he was fine.Turned out to be an abscess.

Dont move horse until vet arrives, it could be a complete fracture or it could be an abscess, i hope its an abscess. Good luck fingers crossed

Hope he's ok. Spud was the same yesterday, three legged dog lame. Vet couldn't find anything but after lots of soaking the abscess burst overnight and he was almost right as rain this morning. The vet said the wet then dry then wet then dry weather we've've had is perfect abscess weather and she's seen loads of them over the last week.

Sending lots of pus vibes your way xxxx

Ah, you poor thing. It's so scary and worrying when you are waiting for the answers. I am really hoping that your vet has been and given you some positive news hun.

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for Jester and sending you both lots of hugs. Try not to panic xxx

Really sorry I haven't updated sooner. We have checked him out from head to toe and vet cannot find ANYTHING. He is fine in himself and grazing around himself etc and hobbling along but you can tell it's very painful for him. Vet has given him a pain killer and anti inflammatory injection and I have to keep a close eye on him til tomorrow.
If it's an abcess them hopefully it will present itself quickly. The only other thing is a strain/injury to his shoulder??
I have been as sick as a dog all afternoon for worrying about him :o
Thank you so much for the support xxx
