I know this is very petty of me, but I always used Jeyes for cleaning out (empty) stables and for doing paths etc. at home. Thought the smell was great - really 'clean'. Anyway, a while ago, they changed the formula in line with EU regs, don't you know! Think it's not nearly as good. Manufacturers say it does the job just as well. Just wondered - anyone else disappointed with it, and, more to the point, anyone know of a supply of the 'old stuff'?

well i`ve used the `eu` creosote and it`s faded really quick

Something to do with one of the chemicals in the product has to carry a licence or similar. Which is very very very expensive to pass and get. I thought Jeyes had got the licence as this is the main product they sell and can afford to get the licence. We used to produce a white disinfectant but have now discontinued it for that reason. As it wasn't a main product we sold the licence would have been so expensive to get. ie more than we were actually selling. So we now concentrate on other stuff. Like Foot and Mouth disinfectant. Well something along those lines I can find out for sure on Monday.

We used to use it on our rubber mats every weekend but it got very expensive.... we now use Aldi Meytol - I tip 1 of their "dettol" flavour and 2 of the pine flavour into a sprayer and then spray it all over the floors - only costs me a £1.50 a week for 4 stables - works a treat.
