Am I right in thinking that Jumpers Horse Line rugs ARE basically Mark Todd rugs but under a different name so are cheaper ?

Found a super looking heavy T/O yesterday and it's half the price of the Mark Todd heavy and almost identical - apart from being a different colour and not having refelctive strip on the tail flap ............ I had them side by side and could see no other difference except MT is £112 and JHL is £66 !

Does anyone know if JHL rugs are any good ??

Yes they are from the same factory as the MT rugs, and are generally cheaper.
I have a JHL lightweight and love it. I don't know how well the heavier rugs rate but I would defiantly buy another LW of theirs if I needed to buy one.

ETA - I like, and agree with your signature

Yes they are very good, they fit beautifully- have some of their stable rugs and a l/w t/o rug- am needing some heavy weight turnout rugs and particularly like the look of their combo rug too.

Can only comment on the JHL lightweight turnout which I've been very pleased with - used on one of my horses for the last 2 springs and autumns. Fits well, no turning and no rubbing. Only criticism is that the front fastening buckle is only made of cheap metal and has finally given way (just last week) and needs replacing. Still, I would definitely buy one again.

I had a couple of JHL stable rugs and a light weight and medium weight combo TO. Really liked them all. One of th eclips on the front of LW went same as Faro. The combo has a big Gusset at the base of the neck so even if she was stood on the hill grazing it always went right up to her ears. Would definatelt buy another (once I find a horse that is!)

I got a Mark Todd turnout rug which has the Coolex lining (looks a bit like thermatex lining). Its a reasonably good fit, not overly roomy in the shoulders, but OK. Its lasted well. The only thing I dont like about it is that it weighs a flipping ton!

I still usa a MT HW T/O and stable rug from th first year they came out - brilliant rugs.

We also have a MT fly rug and it is excellent too

I have a lovely MT t/o. I also have a CASTLE one- again a little known make, but made in the same factory and seems to be as good as my MT one.Cost quite alot less too.

I've got a combi middle-weight JHL Turnout which is fantastic - no leaks - very comfy - doesn't slip and has the additional pleat at the base of the neck so when the horse is grazing they are still covered up - Very highly recommended!

Ooo i've got 2 MT turnouts and a MT mw stable so now ive gone n bought a JHL LW stable since you say its the same as MT!! Cheaper yey.

My tackroom is full of JHL and MT rugs - love 'em. Some of mine are up to 10 yrs old now and are used every year. Fit various shapes and sizes (HW Cob to Arabs) never rub or leak, good attention to detail and excellent value for money.

I love MT rugs and the JHL ones look to be the same cut, just check the denier (strength) of the fabrics on the JHL range, you may find the heavy one to be 600 denier which is not as substantial as the 1200 denier of the MT equivalent hence the price difference. Good rugs though, always my preferred brands
