Just watching this on TV (slow day here at Skywalker Towers) and am sure someone on here was on it as a stunt double or groom or something?!

Also want Nick Skelton or similar the stunt rider for jumpy scenes?

The world of stunts is a poorer place now this lady is no longer with us https://jamesbond007.se/eng/memoriam/stuntkvinnan_dorothy_ford_1943-2003 - Her dad used to provide horses and carriages for films and one day she went along to a shoot and fell about laughing when she saw a supposed stunt "could you do any better" she was asked "my friggin' dog could do better than that" ( she did have a pretty sharp tongue!) The rest is history.

An old mate of mine was great friends with her dad - probably on the "he saved my life once" kind of thing - they'd do each other huge favours with no money changing hands.

Dorothy taught hundreds of young kids to ride and her place was open house at weekends for mini shows and gymkana - not many people like her around.

I remember cracking up first time round at the scene where they were rapping a horse - with what looked like whole hedgehogs stuck to the pole! I was in love with Jake too :o

This was on TV not that long ago and it was better than I remembered it from the first time shown - which is quite a long time ago now. It was entertaining and reasonably true to the book.

It's rather dire but so is the book! Doesn't stop us all reading them tho :D

I did actually think they done very well casting the actors and keeping them true to the book. Neither RCB or Jake are my cuppa but they were very accurate. As were Tory and Fen. The could actually have been sisters :)

I LOVED Riders. Was my absolute favourite book when it came out when I was a teenager. I dreamed of being Fen who in my dreams ended up with Billy. I would have been a far better wife than Janey!

In the book Fenella marries the american guy, it is Lavinia who marries the french guy (some count)

Ha Ha, you can tell I have a really intellectual taste in books!
