BWa, I am sorry to hear this, and you are right , as long as they are not suffering. My Jim was a stroppy devil who always knew his own mind, but under saddle he was wonderful.

For Jim who left me on the 29th.July 2013,aged 24. I miss him everyday

That's very strange, I had my 24 year old put down today, he was called Jim... I miss him too but I'm glad he isn't suffering.

Sad day but remember you gave them a good life and didn't let them suffer at the end. Horses stay in our memories forever.

My Jim was wonderful under saddle too, he was an independent soul, he didn't want unnecessary fuss but was a dream to deal with even at the end, I'm going to do a thread about him at some point as I want to reflect on him.
So I will raise a glass for 2 Jim's tonight, glad we could have them in our lives.
