Yesterday I took my nearly 4 year old showing. Its his first outing from the yard so I really didnt know what to expect.
I was at the yard Saturday for most of the day and got him all sparkly clean He doesnt have his own rugs or bandages so he wore Roos (My mares) I think blue suits him!
A friend came with us so we went in her trailer, got him to the show, put his bridle on and took him near the rings. (had intended spending a bit of time there before entering, but due to poor weather they got through classes quick, we nearly missed our first class)
Got the horses sorted and into first class.... Best cob class.
Jimmy was good to start with, pretty calm, just watching what was happening, trotted nicely around the arena, but then became impatient and started fidgeting/pawing. He came 4th But promptly upset the line up by being silly and setting them all off
Went in best coloured, and it was a bit much for him I think. He got bargy, and wouldnt stand still. And I spent most of our trot up spinning him round because I couldnt stop him pushing through me I figured we'd deserve coming last place so wasnt bothered...... He only went and WON the class
The judge said I need to work on his manners but that theres a lot to like
