Hi ive spent the last season showing and done very well. Have been told to join the bsps so looked into it. But they have to have a jmb measuring certificate. What is this and how do I go about getting one? ??
Thanks for any advice!

Contact your vet and ask them if they are a recognised practice to measure. If they are not, they will give you information of vets that can measure.

You will have to take your horse to a premises that is approved and stand the horse on a specially designed pad which is a level area. Horse will then be measured and the paperwork done. If your horse is under 7 the certificate with be an annual height certificate until he is 7. Be prepared for financial pain ! it is not the cheapest exercise.

Forgot to mention - shoes off and well trimmed feet.

The JMB Joint Mearurement Board have a good website and are helpful on the phone. If your horse is an M&M you do not need a JMB certificate to show with the BSPS

If you are going to start out doing a few of your local area BSPS shows you will not need a height certificate before you compete :) (Edited to add you will not need to be a member either)
