Hello all :) I have an interview at a therapy and rehab yard next week and was just wondering what peoples thoughts on clothes are. The only info I have been given is that I'll be required to lunge a horse, so do I go in breeches and boots/chaps or smart jeans/trousers and jodhpur boots? And what do people think about the top half? Will obviously be taking hat and gloves and doing everything the BHS way! :tongue3: Any help appreciated! :biggrin3: :redface3:

I would go dressed for the job you will be expected to perform should you be successful, so in this instance I would go with breeches & boots, I would suggest that a reasonably plain polo shirt and/or jumper would be fine. Also take a back protector in case you are asked to ride. Good Luck :)

Good luck at the interview. If it was me I would wear smart trousers and boots and on top, something smart casual. It will be an outdoor job so don't look too formal as that would be inappropriate for the type of work, but if you go dressed as you expect to be when working, you will look too casual which could be interpreted as disrespectful. Bring your hat and chaps in to the interview with you, not in a plastic bag. Don't leave them in your car. When they ask you to lunge you will have everything to hand and you will look prepared.

Are you able to visit the yard before the interview? Or do they have a website with photos? Might be a way of finding out what is 'normal' to wear on their yard. If there is any chance at all that you might need to ride, then go dressed to ride, if not then smart trousers, boots, polo shirt and jumper. Don't forget to ask how old the lunging horse is, what has been wrong with it etc. Good luck!
