I have a pair of Regent leather long boots for showing/hunting etc. so ~I'm looking for something "everyday" ... I can't abide rubber long boots so it's got to be leather. I usually go for cheaper brands of leather long boots but I was thinking of going for jodphur boots and gaiters/chaps? Which is more durable and more comfy?? I can't remember the last time I owned chaps...what brands are good?? Really I don't want to spend more than £100 for the whole she-bang....(So new ariats are out

I went to robinsons and brought sum joddy boots for about 22quid then went to decathlon and got sum half chaps for 15quid great just for round the yard and it means that my leather boots stay nice for shows

I can highly recomend the Mountain Horse SCS3's I have the long version but they are sooo comfy. Not sure how much the short ones are though

Tredstep Deluxe Half Chaps are SO COMFY, and very durable, they don't get scratched or scuffed easily at all. They're about €120 though, so will be a good bit over budget if you get the matching boots, although Dublin short boots are comfy and will match them well, and are about €50

Holmestead do have special offers on good brands though sometimes

Unfortunately I'm a short arse and have 16"W/16.5"L measurements because those gaiters are gorgeous...I think I'll just go bargain shopping on the online places for something that'll fit!

I LOVE my ariat heritage boots and my leather gaiters.

I have big feet but small ankles and never found long boots that i liked. The lace up paddock boots are perfrect for the fit around my narrow ankles and the gaiters well i could live in them!!!.

I think they look just as good as long boots and no one can ever tell im wearing them. Mine have a high side and a popper so they look like long boots.

Will try and find a picture.... hang on

ahh claire, i have gaiters just like those! From speedgate i am not sure what brand they are. I don't like long boots, prefer to wear chaps and jod boots as chaps have more give and flex, but gaiters look rather dashing!

The brand on mine is saddle craft. I think they were about £40 ish which i think is really good value and the zip has lasted and they are worn a fair bit these days.

Im in kent to so you must be nearish me speedgate is about 25 mins away from me, i do love it there.

I have a pair of loveson paddock boots which desperatly need replacing but I cant find them anywhere.

My chaps are cheapies from the local tack shop, they were about £10 and are so comfy.
I had a pair of tredstep gaiters but found after a while they stretched and slipped down and they didnt look right.

I keep looking at the Harry Hall Belem boots but at the mo I cant afford them. Am also hesitating as summer is coming up so I think chaps will be cooler.

OMG has Decathlon REALLY hit the UK now

Druid I ride in Ariat boots and Tredstep Delux half chaps or Dublin cheapo chaps if I wear my black boots!
