Hey, After being told I need new jodhpurs because the ones I have are baggy and catch on the pommel, (all of mine seem to do this). Would breeches stop this?

And also, I know breeches come up short on the leg how short should they come up? Found some nice ones on ebay and wondering whether or not to bother with them and whether theyl'd fit me.

Thanks for any input! :)

Not sure if it will stop them getting caught on the pommel of the saddle, and as for length because I'm very short breeches are normal length on me but I think on a normal height person they are meant to come around half way between your knee and ankle :)

breeches are designed to be worn with long boots/gaiters/chaps and are shorter to lessen the bulk round the ankle. jods are for wearing purely with short boots so are supposed to finish at the ankle, and have a turn up usually (and occasionally elastic on the bottom).

or do as i do and wear breeches with long socks and short boots cos im cool :p

im right in thinking your a bloke arent you, i guess the reason they catch the pommel is because they are more generously cut to allow for other erm appendages lol
