I have a hernia just above the navel which is being repaired with a mesh on Wednesday (the joys of babies eh?). As it's painful to touch I am still wearing maternity jeans/trousers, and have been riding with the fastening undone on my jodphurs. Not ideal as then the zip comes down! I've been told to expect some swelling and discomfort for a fair while afterwards, and I expect not to ride for about 6 weeks. After that I'd like some new jodphurs which are a bit looser on the waist so they don't press on the hernia repair. So can anyone recommend a make that is large around the waist? Or would going up a size or two be enough? And just to complicate matters I could do with a tall/long leg.

Can you get a pull on pair rather than zip? Would that work? Not sure what your normal size is but fuller fillies do very well cut pairs with a generous waist.

Oh hey heres a thought... what about those cut away ones the girls wear to avoid belly button piercings? I'm afraid I don't know the make because I only encounter them tack checking at PC but they have a sort of low cross over just above the bikini line. The end about an inch or two below the navel. Would that work better?

Ahh also have some Just Toggs pull on Ines which are actually my daughters but so comfy I often borrow! They are fairly low but also have a thick V shape waistband so would also be good?
