Joe Whitaker

Has anyone ever had lessons with Joe Whitaker??

He's coming to do a clinic at a yard near me and I would like to go but have heard comments that he isn't a very good instructor. Makes me wonder if he is just earning extra money off the back of the Whitaker name. I know he has had plenty of sucess in his career so far but will this make him good at teaching?

My sister had a lesson with him through our riding club. He was doing a few group lessons and there was 3 of them. I thought (as a spectator) he was actually very good and my sister thought so as well. She had had a previous lesson with geoff billington and was not impressed. Joe also got on my sister's horse for a bit - was very good to see someone else ride him and he made him look very good! Lol. I would definitely recommend

I think he's quite good. And willing to get on to demonstrate what he means. I think he's not as good as some other pro rider instructors but he has such a wealth of knowledge you can take advantage of
