Joe's grown!

Some 3 year olds don't grow, but I lucked out with Joe and he's done an inch in 2 months. Now 15.1 in front and over 15.2 behind, and still has yet to put a foot wrong, he is the sweetest, gentlest horse ever ??

You can't beat 10 acres of hillside for developing young horses All I've done is pick his feet out and turn him out 16 hours a day.

He's looking super .. a really nice type looking like the makings of a really fun all rounder. Completely agree about the 10 acres of hillside and youngsters.

ETA always worth remembering the fact there is no equine equivalent to the collar bone / shoulder joint that horses worked correctly (when mature / ready) willl come up considerably through their withers..

He’s a lovely stamp of a horse. I really like that ‘type’ and it looks like his muscles are developing nice and evenly. Just what you want in a 3 year old. And I just love his ears!

He seems to have a very standard-bred head @ycbm - particularly his straight ears and the look of his eyes. I love standies and think they are hugely underrated - if he has plenty of standie in his breeding he will probably be a good'un!!

I'm a fan too, since owning a half one

He has triangular hind feet and my experience is that goes with a fair amount of heavy blood too, which would account for his neck, which is beefier than any other 3 year old I've known.

His head will look a lot nicer without those 4 huge tooth bumps!

Best pals. I watched them last night as Joe danced around Ludo on his hind feet saying "play! come on, play!" and they had a skip around together.

I lost 3 in 3 years a while back, and Muffin last year. I hope I can keep Ludo and Joe in 1 piece for a while, but horses do so love to hurt themselves!

Oh he's looking so good! What a gorgeous colour summer coat he has, and that head ?.
Pebbles had massive tooth lumps like that as a 3-4yo...for a while I was a wee bit concerned, I'll admit.
