Has anyone heard of the above, or have a box built by them. Or have you been to talk to them, and what did you think. Feel free to PM me if you prefer :)

Just been looking at horsebox sellers and coach builders in the midlands and there's a box for sale on central england horseboxes that i like the look of. I hadn't heard of them before (that means nothing though!) so I did some googling. Their website says they've been around for 30 years, but the companies house records say the business was registered in 2014, and while this isn't necessarily suspicious in itself as the founder could have sold the original business, the name of the current 100% owner/director is different to any names on the website, and has been with the business since 2014.

So approaching with caution and wondering if anyone had any experiences they could share.

Thanks

I have heard of them and from trawling through adverts over the last 12months they have only recently started advertising and coming onto the market, from my perspective, which may be incorrect. Having had one coach builder let me down a week from completion (vehicle spec was not what was outlined I.e. Mileage etc...) and then having one built by another company only to find issues with it when it hasn't even had six mo this use, I'd be very wary.

Ask things like, how do they extend the chassis, how is the bulkhead strengthened, type of flooring materials used, what after sales service do they provide, get them to weigh the vehicle with Partion, spare wheel and full tank of fuel on board so you know what the exact payload is before you put a horse in. Get everything documented in writing. Unfortunately there are many people who claim they can build a box but there is a big difference to building one and then building one that is suitable for the job.

I visited the workshop when I was looking for one, seemed pretty good, with some decent safety features. However, the one they showed me wasn't finished particularly well, rough edges etc. Looked like it had been a bit of a rush job, so I ended up buying off another manufacturer.
