John somebody...famous showjumper??

Working at a showjumping yard today and a man came in, quite old, and he had a jacket on which said "Great Britain Vetran Showjumping Team", and I later heard him being referred to as "John"...
i didnt catch his last name, but is he a famous showjumper?

It probably was John Williams the vet as you are in the right area for him, he was on the team last summer.

John Popley's DOB is 15.07.1968 on the FEI website so not quite 40 yet!

nooo it deffinately wasnt John Whitikar, was going to mention that lol, deff would have recognised him! could have been John Williams actually!

ETA: ah, it must of been John Williams, just looked on their site and it says their grade A mare was jumped by John Williams so i guess it adds up!

AND he also came with something for one of the horses who had ringworm, so yeah it all adds up now lol, being as john williams is a vet!
