I bought a John W V-check breastplate about a month ago. I love it but i have started to notice where the leather comes up from where it attaches to the girth it is starting to rub.
Its not rubbing between his legs or over his shoulders but on his chest. It is almost like a rug rub. . .

What can i do to stop it rubbing. . .?

Thanks

Is it elastic? Mine is and it does rub a bit. I bought a girth sleeve and got a local sewing place to turn it into a cover (in 2 bits). Problem solved and it looks smart as well (is black). My Horse has quite sensitive skin.

Could be the time of year, as they are changing coats. My horse has rubs from his reins on his neck at the moment!!

Leave it for a month or so, and see how you get on...otherwise suzysparkes suggestion sounds a good one

Totally agree, the coat is dead at this time of year. We have got light rubbing in the rein area and on his shoulders (assume the latter from the rugs). I would not panic too soon...
