does anyone use or has used the john whitaker training rein?

my pony has been playing up, very bendy neck and using it to evade rider, he goes well in draw reins but these are difficult for my rider to use (im pregnant and not riding him myself).

iv ordered the training rein to try and get him working with his head correctly positioned and it says its easy to use for novice riders.

will i be better riding him in it myself before trying to explain to my rider how it works and the best way to ride in it?

Thats a shame as it is just a bungee and you can pick them up for under £5!

Id pop him on the lunge with it first so that you can see it working for your self first.

I never thought to look elsewhere for anything tbh, just seen it and thought it might help!

lunging first sounds like the best plan, if i can catch him on a sensible day i can have a wander round the school with it on him and see whats whats.

riding out is when it'l hopefully help most but i cant risk doing that myself with him at the mo!
