A friend of mine has lots of experience and has done Monty Roberts 'Join Up' with lots of different horses and found it to be a good exercise each time.
However, she tried it with her new mare and when she went to send her away the horse would hardly move. Horse continued to face her and almost 'squared up' to her.
Does this method just not work on some horses, or was she not firm enough with her? She can be quite a stubborn and dominant mare.
