My horse has been diagnosed with trauma arthritis in her knee and has had tildren and a course of adequan, she is currently on joint fx with metacam for use 'as and when she needs it'. She is sound and happily back in work but has anybody any experience of joint fx as opposed to other products i.e. vetrofen etc. please???

I use it. My vet recommends it. He says he has researched all of the joint supplements and claims it is the best one. I wanted to give mine Cortaflex but he told me I might as well feed sugar for all the good it will do..!!

I've no idea whether it works or not, but TBH I don't know if any of them work. I don't know how my horse would have been if he wasn't on the supplement - he might have been just as sound without it, he may have been better or he might have been crippled.

Hiya,

I am doing a survey on equine joint supplementation and the public's experience with using them for my dissertation. I think this is a very important area in need of research. There are hundreds of products currently in the market and I want to highlight the products that do work from the products that don't. Then try to isolate the specific ingredients from your results, to work out why the products that do work do!

If guys have any experiences at all with joint supplements, I would be super greatful, if you could complete my quick survey. You will be helping to remove products that don't work from the market.
