Right, I need all of your opinions on this... what is the best joint supplement to try? There are so many out there!

I am tempted to get some homeopathic stuff from a certain place because all their other products have worked really well so far for other things.. plus I like knowing 'exactly' what it is that's in the product.

It's for my 19yo gelding tb x hannoverian who's had a hip problem possssibly for 10 years +, we're not sure. But it's gone unnoticed for a long time and we're currently having the chiro trying to 'right' it. He's stiff on his hip and has been leaning all the extra weight onto the diagonally opposite front foot.

I've been suggested putting him on a bit of bute to ease it while we build muscle on it... alpha-bute.. extraflex....

All suggestions welcome!

I second turmeric, my boy was diagnosed with arthritis and i have been putting it in his feed for the last 6 months..and seems to be working wonders

Sounds good, I'll look it up!

My boy's also laminitc and prone to colic, so do you know if it has any side effects at all that might be negative against these?

My mare is 27 and had bad joints too. She has something called Ekyflex Mobility. I get this from my vet. It is about £25/£30 for a months supply but the idea is that you alternate months on and off it.
She is a completely new horse! She is much more flexible and happier in her self. Before she was on this she wouldnt even walk over a ploe on the floor as she could not move her legs that well - after a month on Ekyflex she was jumping 1 ft and a 1/2 with ease!

I honestly think my mare would not be able to do half the things she is doing now if she wasnt on this. :D:D
