Joint supplement containing Hyaluronic acid (HA) ??

Evening all

I am looking for a joint supplement that will help lubricate joint.
Have had somebody who is a professional in the bio-mechanics of equines advise one that contains Hyaluronic acid.

Already looked at NAF Superflex (powder and liquid) and Equine America Cortaflex HA, but the latter is rather pricey..

Does anyone have any joint supplements that contain HA that they can recommend? Or any to steer clear of??

one worth trying is cortaVET HA - you will get it at one of the big online pharmacies - not cheap but none of them are.

Its liquid rather than powder and gets into the system quite quick

for some reason I thought Seraquin had HA, but I was wrong - so I googled and found this

I think feedmark do a HA product, I can't remember what its called though. They often have offers on so if you time your order right you might get it cheaper?

My vet recommended this one to me, it is veterinary strength Superflex, not the cheapest but had good results with my mare

Though my vet said it hasn't been proven that ha can be absorbed effectively orally just if injected directly and the ingredient tolook out for is glucosamine. There was a lengthy threqd on here where people seemed if the opinion that ha is added as a buzz word more than anything.

hmm, well the whole issue of whether joint supps actually work or not and can get to where they are needed is another discussion!

my boy has recently had HA injected and I figure if just a little bit might get to the joint from the supp which also has plenty of the other stuff in and is not really that expensive than all the better .

Riaflex was another suggested to me as having good levels of HA.

I was under the impression that the horse can absorb HA from the gut and it has to be injected...?

We had been advised that ones containing HA would be better than those not. Having looked at quite a few online, a lot of them do contain glucosamine and MSM, as well as a few having rosehip in it.

It is not a major issue, but just taking action before anything gets worse, in order to try to prevent the matter developing quicker.

Will have a look at all that have been recommended. Once again, HHO has delivered, thank you all
