I know this has been done to death, really sorry!!

I'm looking for a supplement (powder or liquid) that would benefit my retired mare's joints.
She has bone spavin which, despite medicating, have fused incorrectly leaving her 1/10 - 2/10th lame bilaterally behind. She also is very on the forehand and seems to be quite stiff in front too.

She has had Glucosamine, which did very little in my opinion.

She is currently on Mobile Mover and Alphabute, with Danilon if she needs it, but I'd love to find a way of not having her on an analgesic at all really!

Cheers for any suggestions!

Sorry to hear about your horse.

I used to give my mare Linseed, Cod Liver Oil and Formula4Feet when she started getting a little bit stiffer (althought I did continue to gently hack her out). I also gave her one sachet of Danilon per day and used to keep her rugged up in Winter (In the stable and when out) to protect her from draughts. Sadly I lost her last year aweek before Christmas but to her last day she could still manage a canter in the field.

Mines is on veg oil, senior conditioning mix which has added glucosamine and naf super flex. She remains shod so her hocks can be supported via farriery.
He laughed when out today as I had her in after she over reached in the field. He couldn't believe that's she's old and stiff and could track up that much! :-)
As much turnout as poss does help her too

Thanks all :-)

I haven't tried any of the supps suggested, so will have a look into all of those :-) Particularly like the sound of the Turmeric as it is natural.
She does have a splash of veg oil in her tea, but is on a restricted diet (no cereal, starch etc) due to Lami and weight problems. Shes a bit of a walking disaster - very much like me!!

She lives out and is well rugged as she feels the cold even though she has a coat that a polar bear would be proud of!
