I am looking for a joint supplement for a laminitis-prone horse. She has mild hock arthritis. I understand that glucosamine is a no-no, so does anyone have any recommendation or thoughts on good supplements that would suit?

Thanks

Would your vet be able to recommend something? Ours are amazing and always clued up on what supplements are most appropriate based on their knowledge of the individual horse.

I have had one respond well to turmeric, but it doesn't suit them all and definitely not worth risking if they have a history of ulcers. It also took a few weeks to show improvement

,I believe glucosamine is contraindicated only if the horse has uncontrolled insulin resistance.Riaflex is an excellent joint supplement but its expensive,it is recommended by the ECIR horse group.
