Looking for recommendations for a good joint supplement for my mare now that she's getting older, she's retired and lives out 24/7 and I think she may benefit from something extra now she's getting on a bit especially when it's cold and wet in the winter.

Anyone use the riaflex one? I know the dog version has a lot of fans on here.
I do- swapped to it from synequin (similar composition but riaflex is much cheaper) he's not really been on it long enough to tell though- 2/3 weeks? Seems about the same as he was on the synequin so far though- have also started him on boswellia as well, which might be making a difference? Might also be due to having been on the joint supplements for a while though. He was on glucosamine for ages before- but I don't think that was offering quite enough support as he's still in work.

Thanks, I'm never sure if they really do anything but they can't do any harm so will probably feel better thinking I am trying anyway, one of the vets at the vet hospital said they need to be on glucosamine pretty much their whole life for it to have any effect and he was very dismissive of things like devil's claw and boswellia but having seen a dog go from lame every day to bouncing around like a puppy after going onto yumove I'm in the "give it a go" camp.

Feedmark's joint supplements seem to work, I have had good results with Best-Flex, Extra-Flex and their Acti-Vet with different horses. Equimins Flexijoint also works as does Equine Answers Premier Flex HA.
