Our elderly pony is in his late 20's / early 30's, really really doesn't look or act it (at all!), but he's starting to get stiff and does hobble about at times, so I'd like to give him something to help. However - this is easier said than done!
He's the fussiest eater on the planet, if anything is sneaked into his food and detected he will go on hunger strike and not eat anything for days at a time and end up making himself very ill - he still won't eat apples after a tablet was put in one over a year ago.
As he's lami prone, I can't disguise various powders and potions with anything like molasses. Sneaking it into sugarbeet doesn't work either. He does have the tiniest sprinkle of pony mix (just so he'll eat something!) with his sugarbeet and lite chaff, but it's not enough to tempt him to eat it if a supplement is added on top.
I'm just wondering whether any of you with ridiculously fussy eaters have managed to find a joint supplement that they will compromise on? He won't touch global herbs (though can't say I blame him), wouldn't touch cortaflex or superflex, won't touch kentucky joint supplement (which is apparently caramel flavoured so you'd think it would appeal...)
I'd be very grateful for any suggestions - trying every one i come across is starting to cost me a small fortune! x
