Joint supplements for younger dogs

Well as it looks likely that our adoption will be going through next month I wanted some advice on supplements for younger dog. Nala is a 3.5 year old alaskan malamute and I was thinking that especially for a large dog it's probably a good idea to give her some joint supplements and try to be preventative rather than wait till she is old and try to treat things when it's probably too late. I know you move do a young dog one, does anyone have any other suggestions / recommendations?
Also harnesses for big dogs, I'm thinking the one tigress diesel harness as the clip on the back is a little further forward than most I've seen but I'm not really used to harnesses so if anyone has other recommendations for a big strong girl that would be great.

I use JointAid for my dogs, have done for many years now as has my sister and we both really rate it. Tiny granules that you just add to their food. My fussy dog takes it no bother.

Thanks, I've heard really good things about riaflex but maybe I got a bit conned into the you move one of having one specifically for younger dogs ( I guess it doesn't matter as long as it's got the right ingredients, everything else is just marketing). I looked at perfect fit harnesses and they looked like the clip on the back is at the back of the harness and I feel I want one that doesn't put so much of her already in front of me if we are in a situation where she pulls.

Agreed. My physio (or rather my dogs physio ) has suggested I change them from Yumove to Riaflex, and both they and the vets recommend Perfect Fit harnesses.

Thanks, I think I will be getting a physio for her too, she's very unfit at the moment and slightly swings one of her hind legs out as she walks, not consistently but seen it a few times, she looks quite straight when trotting though. Her previous rescue centre also noted it and sent her for xrays which were clear so I'm hoping it's a general weakness that a physio can help work on. When I read her medical reports from the rescue she looks to have been in very poor condition when she arrived, worms, fleas, skin problems, underweight and several occurrences of bile vomiting poor girl.

Riaflex is powder, so it's great for dogs who are tricky to tablet.

I was told that the only reason Yumove was considered the top joint supplement was their amount of advertising! Riaflex is considered much better and I used to use it.
However I use Joints, made by Vince the Vet. His explanations on both Facebook and the website are really good. I use it as a safeguard for the future rather than to cure a current problem but it is good for both. Well worth a look.
