Can anyone recommend a good supplement that I could feed to my daughter's pony? There are so many on the market, before I splash out my hard earned cash I'd prefer to learn from other people's experiences. Anyone want to say what they've used that has helped with an arthriticky shoulder? Thanks in advance.

Cortaflex worked absolute wonders on my boy & I find myself recommending it to everyone!
He had a busy life before me, loads of jumping etc and without any supplements he's extremely stiff, slow and always tripping over. We tried a couple of the cheaper ones on him but nothing worked, stuck him on Cortaflex (HA) and he's a different horse! Bouncing around the fields with the others, a lot happier than he was, and he's so much more flexible and doesn't struggle to do the daily stretches like he used to.
I did originally try the standard cortaflex which made a bit of a difference but nothing huge, after speaking to equine america they recommended the stronger HA version and it's been incredible stuff.
Unfortunately it's not the cheapest, but I haven't found anything else that works for him yet - did try NAF's superflex for a while as it's a cheaper option and many people swear by it and say it has a similar effect to cortaflex, but it sadly wasn't enough for him - could be worth a try though? x

Useful thread, i was going to ask the same question. Best supplement for a fifteen year old who is showing tightness in the front end??

Riaflex is excellent! Much higher quantities of active ingredients than a lot of supplements on the market. Have a look at the website and give Kate Williams a call, She is really helpful.

2 people i know have recommended turmeric (one of the main ingredients in cosaquin or seraquin). As a supplement goes, it's pretty reasonable.

I saw some difference with Devils claw and apple cider vinegar, but I wouldn't rave.

Dunno if your vet's have mentioned hylauronic acid injections? It's like the equivalent of which is used for arthritic/stiff dogs. My vet mentioned it when my horse was stiff after an awkward landing.
