my boy has just been to ashbrook and he has problems with his coffin joints, the vet has told me to give him joint supplement, can anyone recommend any ?
anything with glucosamine (hydrochloride as opposed to sulphate as absorbed better) at rate of 10g per 500kg horse.
Newmarket joint supplement is very pure, cortavet is 5 times stronger than the cortaflex and also is very good.
Hope your boy is okay, xx
I replied to your previous post. Ella (my big mare with arthritis of the coffin joint) has been on Feedmark's ExtraFlex HA for 15 months. When she was diagnosed, I looked at all the levels in loads of supplements and Feedmark's came up trumps - not to mention they usually have offers on. Website is here
My 7 y/o gending who has osteoarthritis in his pastern has Mobifor, it has everything in it and seems to be doing him a lot of good, he's been totally sound since being on it.
Cortaflex did nothing for my old boy with high articular ringbone. Riaflex Complete took 10 years off his age and has kept him hunting fit for the last two years - and hopefully for the next two!! (He's 18)
