Sorry I'm sure this has been asked loads but I'm wondering which supplement is best gram for gram?

I've been looking at naf superflex and cortaflex?

As a precaution for an eventer. Thanks

I tried to make this assessment and gave up when my brain exploded! Of course it isn't just price gram for gram but also exactly what is in it and how much of which active ingredient in each. No point buying the cheaper by weight only to discover it has less of the relevant ingredient in that gram! If anyone has actually managed the full analysis I would be fascinated.

In the end I looked for the elements I wanted (for example Glucosimine has recently been found to be ineffective so I didn't really want that...) and then looked for a cost effective route to that. In the process I tumbled on green lipped mussel extract and the reviews seemed good. So we ended up with Maxvita Flex as the only product with it. I tried it about 3 months ago with an SJ'er turning to his teens and I'm happy with the results so we stuck with it. He wasn't showing any signs of wear really - but I wanted to prolong his active life. I do think he is more fluid in his movement - not that I would have called him stiff before. His attitude to work seems to have improved and he seems to cope better with the stress of a full day hunting. All of those could have other explanations of course - but I'm happy with it.

Oooh?, when was this finding made? Do you have a link? I'd be interested in reading up on it! Especially as the main ingredients I've been looking for are glucosamine and msm! !

I wouldn't waste money on oral stuff when you can maintain a horse on IM pentosan for an equivalent amount per annum

I've been using a joint supp from Hack Up for about 2 months for my 2 (both 20yo, and hunting fit, one with arthritis, spavin and sidebone). Have never seen them both so springy and happy to be moving about. marvellous stuff!

Ditto. Its the only joint supplement I've used where I see a difference if I don't use it for a few days

Quite agree...Ours have genuinely felt so good that I've felt rubbish for not contracting hack up sooner.
I didn't think it would make any difference to Ron, but he's discovered extended trot finally!

Alf has discovered airs above the ground! I have rediscovered my ability to grab a neckstrap in 0.0000001 of a second, and stick my feet forward.

Eek! Know that feeling!

Another testament to hack up... Both boys are not tucking up after a day hunting (we are using a digestion supp from them too), and Tom, who would often be a little stiff the day after, marches out like he's not spent the day before hammering up and down the roads!

Equimins Flexijoint, brilliant stuff! My 15yo cob was very clicky in all his joints when I got him 6 months ago and prone to tripping.Very short striding in walk and trot. Farrier had trouble getting him to lift hind legs. All these problems disappeared in about 2 weeks. He walks and trots out so much better and lifts his hind legs no problem. Its the only supplement that I can really see a difference. I even wrote to Equimins to say how good it was!
