I'm sure this has been done before but I don't have time at the minute to search.

Can anyone recommend a good joint supplement which actually works? Will be interested to hear any before & after comments too.

Have tried cortaflex and another one which name escapes me at the moment so any other ideas?

Synoquin was fantastic for our Irish Wolfhound. He had OCD that was operated on as a pup as was in ludicrously active hard, hard work everyday. We were told that his shoulder might give out age five but although he died aged 5 of cancer (in the opposite leg) the OCD shoulder gave him no trouble until the day he died. He was operated on at 10 months and was 86KG full up when he died. He was on a loading dose everyday. Brilliant, but not cheap!

Hey Nijinsky how's your cruciate ligament pup doing? Sorry can't remember his name. I use Glycoflex on all of mine There are several different strengths and seem to do mine OK.

Blue's doing fine now. It has taken forever though, or it seems to have. Joint supplement is more for his ED. He gets a certain amount of glucosamine/chondroitin in his food but I really want to get him on as much as I can (without over dosing him obviously), never really know if what's in their food is enough.

I have pain killers for emergencies and although he doesn't appear to be in pain, he does look very stiff evey now & then and the sound of his bones clicking makes me cringe.

Anyway, he hasn't been on any added supplements for a while now so want to get him back on them to see if I can see any difference. Haven't seen any difference really in anything I've used so far.

Hope your boy (Dexter isn't it)? is fully covered and probably tearing around like a looney

I've been using NAF Relief on my 14 year old MinPin for the arthritis in her stifles. We've been getting amazing results and this little dog that has been shuffling along for the last couple of years has suddenly turned in to a demon on four fast little legs (again!). It's taken about 3 months to see results.

My friend uses something from Global Herbs for her old collie. He was struggling to get in and out the car etc and was stiffening up after sleeping, lying down etc. He was about 12 at the time and used to come out with us on the horse - sometimes for 3 or 4 hours at a time. She spoke to Global Herbs who recommended something from there range - they arrived and they were working within 48 hours - was bouncying around like a puppy! Is on the maintanace dose since and is now nearly 17!

Joint Aid for dogs. It has helped my older dogs but amazingly my young lab puppy who was lame for 6mths and under the vet became sound after changing from synoquin (vet prescribed) to Joint Aid - brilliant stuff I wouldn't use anything else.
