I expect if I get 10 replies they will say 10 different things!
My youngster is on the expensive cortaflex, the yellow one with HA and silicon. He is on it after an OCD op on his hock, but has never been lame so I can't see if it is doing any good.
I had the back lady out yesterday for my ridden horse and he is stiff in his hocks, which leads to him getting a sore back. She recommended 'noroquin' anyone heard of it? I just want to try him with the best supplement I can get for 3 months and then go the vets route, I don't want hock injections as a first resort. Back lady thought that was quite possible, as he only potters about on hacks with me and looks sound apart from a bit stiff when you set off.
Recommendations, please.

I'd go with bog standard micronised linseed for omega oils and use plain glucosamine, which has been proven to work as a starting point.

I feed linseed and glucosamine from Aviform. Same as the vet recommended Newmarket joint supplement but 1/4 price. Have also used supplease from aviform. It appears to help mine but as your OP probably people will reply saying it didn't work for them!

OK...matching replies and I assume you didn't confer!
I have been tossing around the idea of linseed anyway but thought I might wait until winter. Simple systems are a half a mile from me so can get it from there.

I *think* that the SS linseed contains something else, possibly seaweed. Personally I'd recommend the linseed from Charnwood Milling.
