Josie came in on Thurs, with a leg strap broken off her rug. Took rug off to find a friction burn type thing on her bum, about 3in long and 2in above her tail.

Didn't realise how sore it was til Fri when I tried to put her turnout on, she freaked.

Now she's not right on a circle, and her tail is floppy, she normally clamps it shut if you touch it. It almost like it was when she was ready to foal. Apart from if you move it, esp pull slightly, it hurts her SO much! But she has no resistance in it to snatch it back.

Called vet Fri, he said to leave her in (remember she's recovering from PSD surgery, so we have to be careful) walk her out as much as I can, (hmm, gales and rain today) and bute 2x a day til Monday.

I was hoping to see improvement, but haven't at all.

Anyone else had anything like this? Is there anything else I can do for her?

Thankies

She's lifting it to wee and poo, it's perfectly clean. She's happy and bright, just not if you touch her tail :-(. It's odd, like she hasn't got the resistance anymore.

Yes vet coming first thing tomorrow. Only reason I didn't get him back this weekend is he's not on call it's another vet, and following my vets advice, new vet said he'd leave it a day or 2 aswell.

I would guess she has pulled something whilst getting in a muddle which she must have done to break it and get the friction burn so its not the friction burn per se causing the issue its more muscular but thats just my guess.

I do hope so. Poor love, she's been throgh enough this year already.

I got some arnica tablets today, thought it might bring out any bruising better??
