Joyriderz protective jackets - does anyone have one?

Oh I was looking at these today as well as they are on sale -I rarely wear my body protector because its bulky and then I need bigger sized jackets to go over them when out hacking / or a hige one to go over winter jumpers/coats and a s maller sized one for summer when far less layers are required. These jackets look like they have solved that problem but I admit I am dubious about their protective level so I shall be watching this thread carefully - Shame you cant have one on trial
 
I did a thread asking that very question, still haven't got one as I would quite like to see them up close in a shop and see how wearable they are. I'm the same with a BP I just don't feel comfortable and its mainly my arms I am worried about having badly broken one in september and I still can't quite straighten it...

I'm delighted to say that I haven't had occasion to test out the protection of my Joy-riderz jacket. It is quite comfortable to ride in, the only disavantage being that my left sleeve kept getting stuck to the velcro on the body of the jacket - but that ws easily sorted. I also have a Mountain-horse jacket which certainly did protect me when I landed off a bucking horse on the road but which is less comfortable to wear.
My BP is a Kan-teq which is reasonably comfortable but I definitely prefer the jackets for hacking, etc.
 
I've got one and really like it - it's warm and comfortable and great for safety. If feels a bit stiff when you first put it on but as soon as it warms up it softens and is comfortable enough to wear all day.
 
I want one and I'm saving up but I'm waiting for them to invert the colours...too much black for me I want to be seen clearly from the back when I'm out riding

Pearlsasinger - have you tried it as a gilet-style jacket yet? If so, does it 'work'? Just asking because some of these '3 in 1' style jackets look fine as a jacket, but the other component parts look/feel a bit odd on their own, if that makes sense. And can you wear it without the padding for yard work on horse's day off/lunging?

Havent tried one but am interested in getting one. Just had a look at the other thread and there is a post about an inflatable jacket - it inflates when it detaches from.the saddle or something... One thought... How do you get off without it inflating?!! :p
 
MgO - an air jacket is attached to the saddle I think, you have to buy air canisters which you replace every time it inflates, obviously people forget and get off their horse with humorous results!

I don't think they are practical for every day use for that reason, but great for XC etc!
