The horse I currently ride is ridden in a NS loose ring french link snaffle. However, he tends to poke his nose out, in trot particularly. So I thought it might be a good idea to try him in a hanging cheek french link for a bit of poll pressure. Also the NS is only on loan so he needs a new one!

I was wondering if the John Patterson/Korsteel bits were dressage legal, and if anyone had any experience of them? He likes to mouth the bit, so I like the fact that the JP is designed to stop the bit from hitting the roof of the mouth.

He will hopefully be going into a double soon (showing), so I thought the poll pressure of the hanging cheek might be a bit of a gentler transition between the loose ring and the double.

Thoughts would be appreciated - thank you!!!

I'm new to fiddling with bits - hehe!!

I think the JP bits are fab, have really helped me with my horse and I have recommended it to others who have also seen a positive difference.

Yep also have used a JP with good effect on my horse, afetr recommendation to a friend from yourself I think!

Seem to go well in them, although I do alternate between that and his NS as otherwise he tends to get a bit leany in the JP...
