OH and I are normally up between 6am-6:30am hence that is what time Daisy is used to getting up now. That is her routine therefore if we end up laying in bed any longer... she started to give a few short barks to let us know she is ready to go out (she is in a crate downstairs overnight).
Over the last few weeks she started waking up and 6am and barking barking barking for our attention. We try hard to wait for a lull in the noise to go down (so that we are not rewarding the barking with what she wants) BUT when OH is in a rush to get ready for work, it is not always feasible to spend half an hour waiting for quiet before he goes downstairs
so we end up having to go down and she gets rewarded for making half an hours worth of noise
Now she has started waking up earlier and earlier and earlier. The last week it has started at around 5:30am. This morning she started off before 5am
If she wakes up before 6am she is absolutely left to wail and bark until it is time to get up and we do still try and wait for a lull... but this is just getting worse and worse!!!!!
It is not the case that she is crying because she is desperate to relieve herself as when you do go down to her she has no interest in going into the garden- she is just wildly excited to see you (and no, we don't make ANY fuss when we go down, we ignore her totally until she has been out into the garden, had her breakfast ect) I then have a play with her once I'm up and dressed etc.
Any ideas to help stop this behaviour?
