JRT - KC Registered?

I'll soon be moving house, once I get settled in I'd like to get another dog. I'm thinking of a small breed, as my Llasa is grumpy and gets on better with small dogs.
I rang yesterday about some JRT pups, the lady said that JRT's are not KC registered. Is this right?
I've seen some minature ones around, are these a 'different' type?

They are not recognised by the K.C as the breed standards vary,......so they cannot be judged by a fixed breed standard.
There is A JRT club of G.B......who have a breeder list, their aim is to keep the JRT breed a working one.....not to soften it.

I found this JRT club but cannot comment on them as have no experience with the club.

JRT is not a KC registered breed. They can come in so many shapes and sizes etc it's just a "generic" term for a type of dog really.

Am I right in thinking the Parson JR has been recognised by the KC?
