Hi everyone,

I just want to share my experience with you!

I have written two letters, the first back in November 09 and sent two emails regarding a complaint about Mudruckers.

Basically, my first pair didnt last very long, they split, then I bought another pair, again, they haven't lasted very long, they have also split and so I have written/emailed to JT and GFS (their sister company) and I haven't had a single response, no acknowledgement, no nothing which is, in my opinion, very poor.

The boots cost me a small fortune and I consider myself to usually be a loyal customer and a fan of the JT range, though considering the severe lack of customer service, I will not be returning to them.

Now I wish that I had never purchased the boots in the first place.

I have gone from being really annoyed to really cross to really upset! I can't afford to replace the boots and I am thinking that perhaps the decent thing for them to do would be to replace them!

Aside from turn up on their doorstep or post the boots to them, I am not sure what else to do!

Has anyone else ever complained to JT? Successfully? Or are they known for being rubbish at responding to complaints?

I love my mudruckers! Never had a problem. Had them over a year and never had a problem.

Have you tried to call them? Iny my experience written complaints dont generally get a quick response.

Yea I had the same prob mine split, they were only 6 months old and so did my friends!
I emailed them to as I really wasn't happy with this but never got a reply!!!!!!!

a lot of manufacturers don't deal with individual complaints, you would need to go through the retailer you bought them from.

I agree, but wouldnt you expect the manufacturer to tell you this? How hard would it be for them to type a one liner letter saying 'so sorry to hear, but please speak to the retailer' I do find some companies customer service lax to say the least

Ring them I would say...

Why didn't you just return the first pair to the shop and ask for an exchange???

They should be your first port of call as it is the shop with whom you have a contract.

If you can't get any satisfaction from complaints to the shop and manufacturer then trading standards are the correct people to speak to.

If the goods where faulty at manufacture you can complain to either the retailer or manufacturer.

My advice would be to write to them by 'Royal Mail Signed For Delivery Service' and state that you are making an official complaint and that you will expect an acknowledgement of your letter by return of post.

If they fail to respond then just take them to the small claims court using the online service.

Phone and ask to speak to the complaints department. If no complaints department then ask how to make a complaint.

Or the other one would be to phone and ask to speak to the MD's secretary and explain the position to her.

Mine split after 6 months too. Won't be buying another pair.

Return them to the shop, it is reasonable to expect them to last for 1 year.

These manufacturers will not improve if we just shrug and say - oh well - we need to complain and return shoddy goods!

First port of call is always returning to the shop, if they won't help then go to the manufacturer.

Your statutory rights state that goods should be of merchantable quality and fit for their intended purpose. If they are not then you are entitled to a refund - don't be walked all over!

TBH my hunters only last 6 months but if theyre hard worked ive come to expect it and only buy cheap on the net. But if you havent given them lots of punishment they should last longer. Shop is first port of call.
