I am due to do my first session of judge training tomorrow, (at the nationals no less!) but am slightly apprehensive as to what to expect..it is in a box apparently, which BD have booked for it, so all I know is to be outside for the allocated time..! Has anybody done these training sessions before? What do they consist of? Would put my mind at rest if I knew what I was expecting tomorrow..! Thanks! 😊

Panic not! I used to be a listed judge many years ago and things have changed, but I am guessing that you will have been told what classes/tests will be used so that you will be familiar with them? You will be conducted by a list 1/2 senior judge and they will probably comment on the first few tests, explaining what they are looking for and specify the areas where you may be 'caught out'. Other competitors will come in and those conducting the training will ask questions....how would you judge that movement/what do you think of that way of going/ what would your collectives be for that/ how would you judge that misdemeanour etc etc. Be brave, stick your neck out and say SOMETHING....it is only through discussion and debate that people learn and improve.

Thanks! I am doing the novice classes, (all I can do, at trainee level), which is N35. I haven't learnt the test, though I will pick it up from watching it through a few times. I have found the info BD give you quite brief, i have two confirmation letters, and wristbands sent through the post, but nothing about what to expect/bring with me, so I feel awfully unprepared!! I am dreading making a fool of myself, but I am booked on two consecutive sessions, with the same test, but different trainer, so hopefully I will become braver as we go on! 😊
