How nice to read a letter from a judge saying how high the standard was at the BRC dressage to music champ and wondering why her class with 0 dressage points were not doing affiliated.
One reason I think is because in BSJA you can win money but there are classes so nearly anyone can carry on at lower level, In BE you can win intros and carry on [ Ithink] competing in them and if you have a go high up and get points you can still do OPN but with BD if you are acurate and reasonably good you quickly go through the points and have to go up the levels. If you compete every other week in 2 classes and get 65% in each thats 6 points x 25 =150 points in one year. The classes have very few entries and I think it is because of the points. When I used to compete [many years ago] you had 20 to 30 in a class and only got points for places, think it was 7 for 1st and 6 for 2nd and so on and you had to be quite good to get points .Now there is often only 5 in a class, Why! POINTS are awarded for even low marks!
