Ive been asked to judge at a local show and, despite competing in many, Im at a bit of a loss as to what to wear!

At first it was only the fun classes, so that was fine. But now Im also doing Riding Club horse, as thats what I compete in so know what to look for.

I dont have any skirts that arent either long and white(!) or work pencil skirts (or mini!). I also dont have time to buy one. So I guess its trousers.

I do have dark trousers, a tweed jacket and a australian oiled hat that looks smart enough, so long as its not too hot. Or I have a navy beagler, but wont this be too dressy? What top to wear if its hot though?

What would/ do you wear?

The issue is - Im 26 (and a size 12 if that helps) so dont want to look old fashioned. I have all the ridden showing kit but never judged before. I dont need to go overboard, but I cant turn up in jeans either! Im also worried about getting very hot in my tweed and I dont own "blouses" as such, just smart work type shirts (i have an office job) or competition shirts (white stock collar or yellow normal collar).

Any help thoughts?? Ive normally got just the right outfit for everything horsey and I wont be as confident if I think I look a numpty!! :~

Thanks all xx

If it is really hot, I wear my inhand showing trousers, short boots and a smart shirt with a straw hat, I may put on my waistcoat, again depending on how hot.

If piddling down then I am out in my auzzie hat and long coat and green wellies - I hate being wet. You can still look smart in this outfit.

If just a nice average day and a larger local, I wear my wool lead rein outfit with a hat that compliments, my outfit is plain and tidy rather than wedding day type you see sometimes.

When I had hair, it was tied back neatly.

As long as you are tidy, then you will be fine. Personal bugbear is judges that don't make any effort to turnout neatly. Do wear comfortable shoes and not too tight a skirt or you can end up on your bum if the ground is rough.

i am judging for a local rc next week (workers) i wont be riding but thought i would either put on my in hand stuff (beige trousers, shirt tie & tweed with my beagler) or my ridden stuff but not sure i can walk about all day in my long boots:rolleyes:
i am a bit like yourself in that i dont have anything smart that could be used for judging

I've worn brown trousers with boots or cream trousers with boots plus a blouse on top with a nice gilet on top to stop the breeze with a hat on.

I wouldn't go for ridden kit if you are not riding.
