Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who offered advice and suggestions on my last couple of posts about judging the dog show today
Despite my nerves and quite frankly - dreading it
I loved every minute of it
It was a brilliant day, the weather was perfect and every class was extremely well attended, infact they said that they had never had so many entrants, but then again the weather is usually awful for that show!
There was on average about 15-20 dogs in each class! And the ringside was packed with spectators - also it was lovely to see so many holiday makers there too
There was a rossette and dog treats for every contestant in the child handler classes and I took on board your advice and stayed away from the sit and stay
We had one funny incident when a little girl lost her very excitable terrier which teared off at full pelt around the showground but did return back to the class - eventually!
I roped in Mark to help me judge the terriers as I don't think I am knowledgeable enough to do them justice - he nearly got his fingers taken off by one!
Everyone was happy, chatty and smiley, the kids loved it and I have to say all the dogs were in amazing condition
Brilliant day - thanks for your help
