Hi back again ?
Judy has now been on livery for around 3 weeks and has grown very attached to another horse called Jenny (both female). I found it cute at first but now it’s becoming a tad stressful. Judy wouldn’t let me catch her for the first time ever yesterday running around the field because Jenny was still in her field and then when I caught her with nuts she wouldn’t stand still when I tied her for grooming. Constantly calling for Jenny and moving so it felt dangerous to attempt to groom her with her butt swinging so constantly. I think she’s learning bad habits from Jenny? Because Jenny is prone to running her owner about in the field. I knew there would be some clinginess when she saw horses again but I didn’t imagine I would feel unsafe to groom her ? so we just did a lunging session. Is there anything I can do about her behaviour?
