Well it's now 4 weeks since my colt arrived! How's he looking? He's had a foal slip on and will lead with Mum after a fashion. He's been just with Mum so far but they are going out at the weekend with 8 other brood mares and foals, as I think he needs some social interaction!

He's my first foal, so any informed opinions would be appreciated!

hes lovely :D

but please wear shoes :o !! I used to live in trainers until one day my horse slammed down on my foot..... it hurt... a lot!!....

Ok, I take on board the shoes thing. We get take our horses for granted I suppose, but no-one wants to get hurt. When leading him I definately have a hat, boots and gloves! Mum's 16HH and Dad's 16.3HH, and I know it's early days, but I don't think he's going to be small??

He is definately a lovely big boy! You've got a cracker there!

As others have said (and I know you've taken on board) please wear boots... I recently got trodden on, wearing my tough leather boots and lets put it this way, i dread to think of the dammage if I hadn't have been... I got away with an entirely black and blue (and every colour of the rainbow in between), incredibly swollen foot, which is still giving me jip some 2 months on...

He is a cracking looking stamp of a lad....well done to mum and dad!

Would echo others on shoes though as only two days ago saw the most horrific pictures of someone's foot who had been wearing sandles....totally removed the top of her foot and all toe and foot bone exposed....yuk!

Beautiful boy, but again please please wear shoes. When I was an A/E sister I saw someone who had their toes amputated by their horse standing on them accidentally - the person was wearing flip flops. I have never forgotten the mess it made of her foot.

Kerrilli, let's see some updated photos of your filly! They looked very similar at birth and it would be nice to see how they progress as they get older.
The mare is mainly TB, but one grandsire is Dallas and another one is King of Diamonds. She's only 16hh and I would be happy if the colt reaches that height!

He is stunning colt.... well done you. Mum looks to be a lovely stamp of a mare too, but he is a good strong colt :)

My god woman you are brave..... wearing no shoes while bathing :o My toes were curling just looking at the picture lol!!!
