Sorry, I know this should go in the Competition section but I got no replies in there last time!

Am entering my first one and want to check the basics! :

Time-wise, is it a set (known or unknown?) optimum time?
And is the speed the same as a usual XC?
If a fence is knocked down, does this turn into time penalties? So I assume the faster you get round the better, in case you knock something?
The joker - is there just ONE joker? And I assume if you jump it clear, it takes a bit off your time???

Id be very very grateful if anyone could help me out with these questions. Ive done loads of eventing etc. but never tried Jump X!

I've only done it once...

If you do a google, there's a jumpcross website? From what I rem, it's fastest time wins with time added for fences knocked down.

I *think* there were 2 jokers & if you left them up I *think* you got some time taken off & if you knock them down, you got quite a lot added on.

You can also go on training days - I did one at Royston - so you can have a practise.

Yeah, well Ive entered for a competition - no time for pratice! My nearest jump x place is 3 hours away so I figured Id rather compete than train since its so far away.

How big are the jokers? Im doing the 3'3 class (biggest it goes on the day - when do they run the biggest group?) - so how big should I expect the jokers to be?
