Further to my post of yesterday I have sourced some euro barriers which are v shaped (widest part on floor) and stand 25 " high in red and white plastic.
They are £28 each plus vat and delivery is very reasonable too.
They can have ballast in if required (probably won't, better have them fall over) and should withstand a knock as they are made for motorway use!
Just rang the chap I had asked to quote me for wooden fillers and he was really nasty, said plastic splinters into daggers if it gets a knock, but our blocks and stands have remained unscathed after five years use.
I'll post a pic of them in use once they arrive (two week delivery date) for everyone's thoughts..
At that price they have saved me a lot of money if they work..
(shame I'm not a thief because there are loads on the roadside locally....

The ballast is Brine which is water so you could do that at home if you need to

Every single road I use to get to the yard has now, of this afternoon been taken over by roadworks!! Am sure out of all the sites no one would notice Id taken enough to build a derby style course...

The barriers you speak of are called safewall. We have a large number, shop soiled so to speak which we sell for a tenner!

And in most cases if you steal them you are doing us a favour because the site has to pay for them in full then whereas they were probably only hiring them for like 10p a week!!
