Hi friends,

Just wondering how you manage arena grooming/harrowing and moving jump poles around. Do you have a pole caddy or trailer that can help make this tedious job a bit easier?

https://www.kellfri.com/horse-jump-trailer-plus

I came across this but can’t seem to find anything similar in North America. Or even in stock available to ship. Would love your ideas on how to manage this.

Thanks FinnishLapphund. The North American trailers all tend to be giant and designed to be pulled only by a tractor/gator.

I was hoping for something smaller like the Kellfri, allowing at least the empty trailer to be wheeled in by hand. If we overload it and need the tractor to pull it out - that is ok. But the portability to load up at least a few jumps to get them out of the way would be ideal. Less fussing with having to hook up the harrow and the trailers etc.

Neddy Man - you may be right! If I can’t find something economical to purchase I will need to find someone who welds. As I don’t know anyone I’m hoping there is something on the market I just haven’t found yet!

Try any garage that does chassis repair work; this kind of welding work is super simple for a professional with space in the workshop.

You could take a look at garden carts such as Red Wagon, and build the tree type structure out of wood.

We just carry poles out of the arena by hand... admittedly, we don't need to carry them more than sixty yards, or so, and there are usually five of us to do the work while the other five hold two horses each, so it takes all of about ten minuted to move poles and uprights.

Would it not be possible to use one of those Steel utility garden wagons where you can fold down the 4 different sides, as it is, without needing help by any welder? If you fold down only the front + back parts, and keep both the other sides up, could you not put some poles on one of those?
I presume your poles are much longer than the wagon's length, but perhaps if they're placed a bit diagonally the protruding parts won't obstruct the handle.
