Jump Saddle pad on a GP saddle (Ideal is the make of saddle)

Hello,

I have read a few posts about people asking about putting a SJ saddle pad with GP saddle but its been mixed comments and looking at the screen to much has confused me.


I'm looking at purchasing some PS of Sweden Saddle Pads - But they only do the SJ and Dressage range? or even the Le Meuix (adore the satin CC pads)
Would these look strange with a GP saddle? I am looking into a jump saddle but probably wouldn't be until the end of the year and I don't really want to wait.
Hoping that someone has already done this and can tell me if I'll be waisting money or not.

I see a lot of people using Lemieux CC with a GP saddle. It looks ok, but I much prefer the cut of the GP for my GP saddle. I feel that the cc sticks out at the front on GP saddles but that’s just my taking of it! Is there anyone who can lend you one to see? At your yard perhaps

I think it depends on your saddle size. I have seen quite a few people using dressage pads with gp saddles. I think you just need to ask on the groups on fb and people will send you photos.

Thank you, thats my thought I don't really want it stick too much out.

This is a le Mieux cc pad with a working hunter saddle, so more of a straight cut than a GP saddle. Not the best photo but you get the idea

It depends it looks on what type of gp saddle you have and you have to be careful that the saddle doesn’t sit to far forward here is the Hunter green cc saddle pad by le Mieux with a gp saddle.

Agree with above depends on the style of gp saddle. My last saddle was a normal gp and only the gp cut pads looked ok on. Now I have a more forward cut gp/jump saddle and cc looks better.

I use the le Mieux cc pads on my K2 GP. I prefer the look of the cc pads and also prefer using the d rings straps

I have CC jump pads on an ideal VSD saddle, the ecogold one I had to move the girth straps on but it looks fine, the lemieux 3d air job was fine without adjustment.

Depends on the individual saddle model, and the seat size in relation to the pad. All the GP saddles I fit are fairly neat and would be awful with a jump version of the Mattes numnahs I stock. If the seat size or the pane length is short you can get a GP on a bigger dressage numnah, but not on one that's a neat fit as you can't move the saddle back. So many factors.
