Looking for recommendations for a jump saddle with a flatter tree, wide gullet channel and that doesn't restrict the shoulder. My other mares Equipe Expression is great on her but cant afford another as on a tight budget, but don't know what other makes/models would be suitable. Must be able to purchase 2nd hand as like i said on a tight budget ;-)

I have just purchased a Black Country Ricochet jump saddle direct from BC themselves. My mare is XXW and has a mahoosive shoulder, the tree in the saddle is the Freedom Tree; I don't know how it would compare to a Equipe. Good Luck !

I have both a Kentaur and a Equipe Expression that I have used on the same horse. The Kentaur's second hand are around the £600 mark second hand depending on condition because they aren't a very well known brand. I loved my Kentaur and was so upset when it stopped fitting. I have the old style Eventer II which has huge knee blocks, but there is one that is apparently very similar to the Equipe which is called the Performer (previously called the Oliver Townend Performer).

thanks all, will have a look at your recommendations - has anyone ridden in a Prestige Paris? Ive been told that they have a flatter tree and 2nd hand prices dont seem too bad?

There is a K&M monoflap on eBay at the moment don't know if that would be any good? [Not mine btw]

I've sat in a Prestige Paris, and it was great. My own saddle though is a Prestige Michel Robert, and it is fab. Really comfy. But I also don't jump (too scared), so I use it for general hacking and schooling.

Kent and Masters jump have a flatter tree and a good wide gullet, they did very well in pliance testing too coming out much better than many of the expensive brands- look out for the older version with the square cantle as these have the flat tree with shorter points- the newer ones (round cantle) are much curvier and have longer points.

I had one for my youngster and found it really secure to ride in. There are a couple on ebay at the moment I think.

I used a Prestige event on my flat backed ISH, and also on my Connemaras. It is so comfy and secure to jump in, and really light, I love mine.
